Here at Deity_Inc we believe that you deserve the best divine being your money can buy. How many times have you been in a situation that was just not big enough for one of the larger gods to handle. Jehovah, Buddha, God, Krishna, Baal, and Allah all seem to be off curing cancer, starting earthquakes, and generally doing the things that got them that Über-god status in the first place. They overlook your pleas for assistance in a trivial fight with the girlfriend, the tension of the winning field goal, or perhaps that all important power-point presentation that seems to be lost at baggage claim. This is where a lesser deity, perhaps just an almost all powerful being comes into play. A team player not quite as much of role model, (No books have been written about these entities, a few pamphlets have been handed out here and there.), they are more interested in the individual and less on the collective mumbo jumbo that seems to be inherent to the commercial or corporate religions.
A more personal form of miracle can be performed. Something easy and almost believable; something that any good act at Vegas could probably do given enough time and planning. However, at the time of prayer you don’t have that sort of luxury. Being in a dark closet with a heavy pocket full of change is no time to find out that MacGuyver is going to need a couple of minutes, a roll of duct tape, and a Swiss Army knife to somehow make the husband leave the room long enough for you to get your pants on.
What is required is the less dramatic and more instantaneous approach. The doorbell ringing, the cat pissing on the rug, or the fact that you remembered to turn your cell phone off.
